HEARTFELT THANKS to EVERYONE …
Who attended or supported our 2014 Cushing-Gavin Awards (CGA) Dinner at the Sheraton Boston.
What a swell party! Well over 800 attendees from all our tribes were there kibitzing, networking and cheering as our four 2014 honorees — TOM RYAN of National Grid, BILLY McLAUGHLIN of IUOE Local 4, SHELLEY KROLL, Esq of Segal Roitman, and PAUL CHABOT of FMCS, received their award.
We are so pleased that Cardinal Seán O’Malley was able to be with us — and who offered a very beautiful Dinner Invocation. Thérèse DiMuzio, a Director of the Boston Musicians Association Local 9-535 (AFM) — and a great professional drummer and singer — led the audience in a stirring, clear-as-a -bell version of “God Bless America.”
The Guild feels blessed by the dedication and personal time commitment made by our 2014 CGA Leadership Team. Our fantastic Co-Chairs Louis G. Rasetta of the Operating Engineers) Local 4 and Donna Finnerty, Vice President of Mt. Washington Bank, and our Executive Chair Kevin Cotter of Plumbers Local #12, all did an outstanding job. Our sincere thanks to Martin Callaghan of FMCS for putting in so much skill and effort managing our complex seating arrangements with Mary G., our Office Manager. Board Member Martin Castillo, of IUPAT DC 35 (Painters) All our Board members and volunteers for pitching in on multiple CGA fronts.
Thanks to our great official CGA Photographer Extraordinaire, Harry Brett, supplemented by our wonderful CGA table photo team of Peter Lavens-Moyer, Ana Dana and Daniela Dana.
Food was marvelous — and the lively and vibrant company even better! ‘
This was our 48th Year gathering to Celebrate and Salute our Labor-Management Community. The funds raised by CGA are the primary support of the Guild’s work and operation.
