Labor Life – Mid-Summer 2012

by Michael Grunko, Guild Election Director

Mike Grunko and Dolly Caltaldo

The Guild’s Election Team conducted several high profile elections this year. The largest were two new clients: SEIU 615 and SEIU 888.

For Local 615, the Guild deployed over 20 poll workers (including translators) to staff four different sites in Massachusetts and Providence RI.

For Local 888, the Guild handled a 7,000 + mail ballot. A large crowd of candidates and observers showed up at Guild Headquarters for the Count.

Other elections included the MCOFU, Utility Workers Local 369, Mass State College Association, Mail Handlers Local 301, and Federal Court Security Officers.

On a sad note. We lost the wise-cracking half of our election Team A, Dolly Cataldo. Every day she was in the office was a good day. In combination with Joanie Santamaria, for over 30 years, election materials were packed and ballots were counted with precision and good humor. She will be missed.
