DESCRIPTION:This 5-week course is designed to focus on BASIC Stewards training: \n\nExpectations of a steward ~ What is a Steward anyway?\nWhat you need to have ~ Resources necessary to do the job\nOrganizing vs Servicing ~ Attitude and approach to solution solving\nYour rights and obligations as a steward ~ How to deal with management\nWeingarten Rights~ How to investigate a grievance ~ dealing with members\nGrievances ~ Writing\, Investigating\, and Presenting\nGrievance Case study ~ Role play\n\nStudents should expect to actively participate in the discussions each week\, bringing  experiences\, real time problems and ideas for solutions to the issues they face as  stewards in their workplace.
