Bruce Tran
2023 Boyle Fellow Labor Guild
Bruce Tran is the current Boyle Fellow for 2023 at the Labor Guild. He has interests in promoting social justice for the middle and working class. As the son of Vietnamese refugees fleeing the Vietnam War turned into American citizens, he understands the need to advocate for immigrant rights, critical study of politics (both international and domestic), and history.
Growing up, Bruce saw the world from a first-generation immigrant’s perspective when it came to hard labor performed by his parents to live a decent life as a middle-class family without outside assistance. To improve the standard of living for all, he believes that helping those at the bottom will improve all lives in the long term. He has a Bachelor’s in Sociology and a Master’s degree in American Studies from the University of Massachusetts Boston.
