In Memoriam: Ken Grace
We mourn the passing of Prominent Labor Law Attorney Ken Grace of Needham, Massachusetts. A 2012 CGA Labor Attorney awardee and founding partner of Sandulli-Grace in Boston, Ken often said “I do law for labor, not labor for law.” Ken graduated from Cornell in 1973 with a BS in Industrial and Labor Relations, then proceeded to obtain his Master’s in Labor Studies from UMass Amherst in 1975. While at UMass he became a union organizer and then a business agent for AFSCME Council 93 before returning to his studies at New England School of Law, where he graduated in 1981 with Magna Cum Laude status and as part of the NESL Law Review.
In 1985 he partnered with Joe Sandulli to form the joint firm Sandulli-Grace, and over the course of his time there successfully negotiated hundreds of collective bargaining agreements as well as mediating countless grievances to fair resolutions to a wide variety of union organizations. Ken was also a long-time supporter and faculty member of the Labor Guild in Braintree, having taught for over 30 years.
