Course Description:

This class will look at the cases and statutes that molded American labor relations from the industrial revolution to the present, from conspiracies in restraint of trade to protected concerted activity and beyond. It will also look at the cases and statutes that molded American labor relations from the industrial revolution to the present, from conspiracies in restraint of trade to NLRA protected concerted activity, from Garmon pre-emption to ERISA, from injunctions to Landrum Griffin and agency enforcement to arbitration.

Instructor Bio:

Paul Kelly is a trial lawyer, labor lawyer, and Fund lawyer advising labor organizations, Taft Hartley Funds, and individual workers. In 2010, Paul became a member of the Labor Guild Executive Board. He has been teaching Labor Law at the Guild since 1984. He has also been a member of the Adjunct Faculty at Suffolk Law School, where he taught Massachusetts Practice from 1998 to 2014. He received the Cushing-Gavin Award as an outstanding Union attorney in 1996 and was named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer in labor and employment since 2007.
