Virtual Event Virtual Event

Join us on the Labor Guild’s Facebook LIVE page for our first Conversation Corner. Featuring speaker Caddie Nath-Folsom, Director of Legal Services, DOVE, Inc., Caddie will lead a discussion about domestic and partner violence, applicable laws, resources, and advocacy DOVE, Inc. provides. This event is FREE to attend.

Domestic violence (also referred to as intimate partner violence (IPV), dating abuse, or relationship abuse) is a pattern of behaviors used by one partner to maintain power and control over another partner in an intimate relationship.

Always remember, no one deserves to be abused. The abuse is not your fault. You are not alone. There are people and resources available to help you. Reach out to friends, family, or local support services who can provide the assistance and understanding you need. Prioritizing your safety and well-being is crucial, and taking the first step towards seeking help is a courageous and empowering decision. Remember, you have the right to live a life free from fear and harm, and there are communities ready to stand by you and support you through this journey.

“Domestic violence is not an argument every once in a while or a bad mood after a rough day; it is a pattern of harmful, controlling behavior that someone uses against their partner. Domestic violence is all about power and control and may not always involve physical abuse. It can include emotional/verbal, sexual, financial, and cultural/identity-based abuse and crosses all gender, age, ability, social, ethnic, racial, and economic lines.” https://www.dovema.org/dv-information
