Effective communication between union leadership and the membership is a critical piece of building a strong labor movement.  This course will examine current practices, communication resources, the pitfalls of ineffective communication, and provide a template to develop your own effective communication plan.

Goal: Develop a detailed plan for communicating effectively with your membership, management, and constituents within 45 days of completing this course.

Objectives: After attending this course, participants should be able to:

  • Explain why effective communication is an important element of a strong labor organization
  • Assess their current processes and identify areas of improvement
  • Construct and implement an effective communication strategy
