The Dangers of Illicit Drug Use (Spring 2023 Date TBD)

This program will provide an overview of the illicit use of street drugs across the life-span so participants will understand the current drug epidemic. It will also provide participants with the role that community response and emergency personnel have on influencing and assisting with providing care for patients on such substances.

Presenter Charlene Verga is a board certified emergency room nurse, who has worked in that capacity for over 30 years. She has a vast experience working with patients under the influence of a large variety of substances. At the MNA, Charlene creates and implements continuing education programs for over 25,000 members across the country.
