An event every week that begins at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until January 22, 2025
This is a three-week course on how to effectively fulfill the duties of a Union Secretary, including the nuances and expectations of the role.
The Union Secretary, the recording officer whose responsibilities are defined first in the union’s bylaws and then supplemented in Robert’s Rules of Order, is often the most underappreciated position in the union! We’ll look closely at the importance of preparing the official minutes, meeting notices, agenda, and policies of the Union. There will also be templates for the documents we discuss.
Before the first session, be sure to read and have available for reference the section of your bylaws that sets out the secretary’s duties.
