Great Workshop on Union Financial Reporting & Election Procedures ~ and a Fond Farewell
The Value of Knowing and Understanding the Rules
Our special thanks to this team of US Department of Labor Investigators leading this great workshop on “Union Financial Reporting and Election Procedures.” Our presenters were: Investigators Jonathan C. Russo and Rose Cheyette, and Dennis J. O’Connor, Sr. Investigator, SCERS.
The room was filled with a typically diverse crowd of accountants, union officers, trustees, election officials from municipal, private sector, public sector, and human services unions Our workshop attendees gain a much clearer, nuts-and-bolts practical understanding of what’s required for union compliance with Office of Labor Management Standards. Topics covered included record-keeping requirement, fiduciary responsibilities, compliance audits and guidelines for union elections and reporting.
Mark Neylon Retiring
The Guild sends our warmest thanks and blessings to a talented and dedicated public servant, Mark Neylon who is about to retire as a District Director for the Boston District Office of the U.S. Department of Labor/Office of Labor Management Standards. Mark has worked with the agency since 1989, previously serving as both an Investigator and Senior Investigator before becoming the District Director in 2010. A gifted and engaging presenter, Mark’s led many excellent OLMS’ annual compliance seminars here at the Guild over the years, and also been a guest speaker at our Guild School on numerous occasions. Wishing you all the best, Mark!
