Guild’s School’s Fall Term in Dorchester kicked off in Great Style

Forget Paris in Spring. Fall in Dorchester is just fine by us. It was great to see so many returning students — and wonderful to welcome so many new faces, including an additional crop of Late Registrants. September is such a hectic month for so many of us, we’re delighted to see folks carving out time to invest in their professional growth. The course selection is excellent, and the students are engaged and thriving.

WE ARE BLESSED WITH SOME AMAZING FRIENDS AND GRATEFULLY ACKNOWLEDGE:

  • SEIU 1199′s wonderful facilities worked out beautifully for this Fall’s classes. Our sincere thanks to Veronica Turner, her leadership team (especially Frank Borges), and 1199′s terrific members.
  • Monday Night Lights!  Thanks to two remarkable unions for emblazoning our Guild School’s name up and down the Southeast Expressway on your dazzling LED signs!

              –    IBEW Local #103 and Michael Monahan, Business Manager and his    team (including
our great Guild Board Member Chuck Monahan and Roseann Flaherty).

             –    New England Carpenters and Mark Erlich, Executive Secretary-Treasurer, and his team (including Ellen Webber who lights up their 30-foot Media Wall] – and a special shout-out to Dan O’Connell who made our sharp Guild and School banners).

A very special thanks to the team:

Father Robert Kennedy, a friend of the Guild and true labor priest, kindly filled in for the School’s First Night when our dear Guild Chaplain, Fr. Frank Cloherty had to be away. Fr. Bob also signed up for class.

And of course, our stellar Faculty of labor relations professionals and their marvelous line-up of Guest Speakers — and our wonderful volunteers and facilitators.  It’s shaping up to be a thriving Fall Term.  Graduation will be Monday, November 11th – rsvp for a very special speaker!
