In Memoriam: George Noel, Business Manager of OPEIU Local 6, VP of Massachusetts AFL-CIO

We mourn the recent passing of our friend and longtime Guilder George Noel. George rose through the ranks of labor and held many notable positions throughout his life. He was appointed Governor Deval Patrick’s Director of Labor in 2007, and was also the former Business Manager for IBEW Local 1505 prior to that appointment. At the time of his passing, George was the Business Manager for OPEIU Local 6 as well as the Vice President of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO.

“Of all of the titles he held during his long and successful career, his favorite of all was ‘Papa.’ He loved spending time with his family and was especially happy when his grandchildren were near.
