So Many Opportunities to Stand with Organized Labor this Weekend

This weekend is jam-packed with opportunities to stand with workers throughout Massachusetts (and from out of state!) and fight for justice and fair wages for all. Read on below for information about rallies and actions happening around the Boston area, and let us know if there are any others we should include!

On Saturday (tomorrow) at 11:30, the Tufts Labor Coalition is hosting an action in support of Tufts Janitors in advance of their contract expiring and their potential strike vote happening next week. The janitors are fighting for a reasonable workload, more full time work, individual and family healthcare, protections against unreasonable layoffs, less weekend and nightshift work, and respect on the job. More information about the rally can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1007036519419251/ .

Also happening tomorrow, the Harvard University Dining Services Workers of UNITE HERE Local 26 are having a mass rally at 3 pm in the Cambridge Common. HUDS workers have been on strike since October 5 fighthing for stable wages, full time employment, and affordable healthcare for themselves and their families. They are asking allies far and wide to come out on Saturday to #SUPPORTTHESTRIKE and show Harvard that HUDS workers will continue to fight and win. https://www.facebook.com/events/1627408724223413/

On Sunday, the Coalition of Immokalee Workers “Behind the Braids” tour is coming to Boston! From the event page: “Wendy’s continues their disregard for farmworkers’ human rights, choosing to publish an empty supplier code of conduct with no verifiable protections for workers rather than join the CIW’s proven Fair Food Program. Join farmworkers and people of faith, students, and consumers of conscience in Boston for a powerful #BoycottWendys action on October 23 at 2 pm.” https://www.facebook.com/events/1798285967096288/

We hope to see you at these events!
